Obituary of Betty Carol McCarty

Funeral services for Betty Carol McCarty 83, of Tyler, will be held 10am Friday, March 16, 2018 with the Reverend Sherman Mayfield officiating with interment to follow at Whitehouse Cemetery, under the direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.

Betty passed away at her home on March 12, 2018. She was born in Murph (New Chapel Hill) Tx to the late Carl (Bud) Mays and Myrtle Mays Bane. She was a 1953 graduate of Tyler High School and member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. After she was unable to attend she continued to support her pastor Bro. Sherman Mayfield. She had a long career in retail sales and finished her career at Macy’s. She loved being “Ganny”, Gospel Music, dancing, Karaoke and playing pool.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Royce “Pete” McCarty; son, Neal McCarty; great grandson, Brevon Neal McCarty; and her longtime companion Tommy Tucker.

She is survived by her daughters, Elaine Standard (Bob) and Donna Hangar McGuire (Dave); daughter-in-law, Sarita McCarty; brother-in-law, Jimmy Don McCarty; grandchildren, Chris Breckel (Holley), Holley Breckel Cook, Adam McCarty, Taylor McGuire (Lindsay), Hayleah Hangar Huskey (Mike), Brittni McCarty Wise (David), Bronson McCarty and Dallas Hangar; and great grandchildren, Carson, Conley, Kye, Greycie, Ellie, Cooper and Chapman.

Grandsons will serve as Pallbearers.

Visitation will be at Cottle Funeral Home in Troup 6pm-8pm on Thursday, March 15, 2018.
