Obituary of Dorothy Louise Roberson

 Funeral services for Dorothy Louise Perkins Roberson, 93, formerly of Overton, will be held at 11:00 am Monday, February 19, 2018 at the First United Methodist Church of Overton with Reverend Fred Parsons and Reverend Ricky Ricks officiating. Burial will follow in Overton City Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home, Overton.
      Louise passed away Thursday, February 15, in Lafayette, Louisiana.  She was born June 25, 1924 in Calera, Oklahoma, to the late W.W. Perkins, Jr. and Jewell Sharp Perkins. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Overton. She retired from Overton ISD in 1992, and moved to Lafayette, Louisiana in 2011.
     Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Jack Roberson and one brother, Elmo Perkins.
     Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Jack and Judy Roberson of Richmond, Kentucky, and Tommy and Patricia Roberson of Mart, Texas; a daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Tom Strate of Lafayette, Louisiana; a sister-in-law, Joyce Perkins; two sisters, Marybelle Gernentz, and Barbara LaPrade; a brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Janette Perkins; 8 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

     Pallbearers will be Jonathan Roberson, Blake Burchett, Scott Simcox, Will Dickson, Tom Strate, and Tommy Roberson.
     Viewing at Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home in Overton is available Sunday, February 18, from 1-5 pm. A visitation will be held, Monday, February 19, at the church at 10:00 am prior to the service.
     In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to First Methodist Church, Overton, or any Hospice organization of your choice.
