Obituary of Charlene Joyce Gee

Funeral services for Charlene Joyce ‘Chalky’  Gee, 87, of Overton will be at 3:00 pm, Sunday, February 18, 2018 in the Overton First Assembly of God Church with Reverend Atwell Hankins officiating. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery near Wright City. Arrangements are under direction of Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home, Overton.

Mrs. Gee passed away, Thursday, February 15, 2018 in Tyler. She was born September 2, 1930 to the late David Earl and Eva Mae Neal Cassity in Hobert, Oklahoma. She married Walter A. Gee September 27, 1949 in Troup and was a homemaker. She has been a resident of the area since 1976 and was a member of the Overton Homemakers Club, the Ladies Auxiliary at the Overton Hospital and a member of the Overton First Assembly of God Church, where she was a member of the Women's Missionaries.

Besides her parents, Mrs. Gee was also preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Walter A Gee on December 12, 2006, two sisters, Dorothy Lewis and Ima Meyers, and a brother, Henry Cassity.

Survivors include a daughter, Tureva Osburn of Nacogdoches; a son David Gee of Tyler; three grand children, Serra Osburn Bowline, Jon Osburn, and Lilith Osburn- Cole; a great granddaughter, Saffron Bowline; her aunt, Evelyn Wilshire of Overton; and numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Pallbearers will be Dale Howe, Jon Osburn, John David Bowline, Michael Thompson, Henry Cassity, Jr. and Michael Cox.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Saturday, February 17, from 5:00 pm to  7:00 pm.
