Obituary of William Darrel Archer

    Funeral services for William Darrel 'MR. BILL' Archer, 70, of New London will be at 10:00 am, Thursday, February 15, 2018 in the Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Tom Guinn officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery near New London.

    Mr. Archer passed away Friday, February 9, 2018 at his residence in New London. He was born July 15, 1947 in Lewisburg, Tennessee to the late Charles and Beatrice Archer and married Jimmie Thompson June 21, 1984 in Galatin, Tennessee. He was a barber and owned and operated ‘ A Barber Shop’ in New London. He was a member of the Overton Missionary Baptist Church.

    Besides his parents, Mr. Archer was also preceded in death by a sister, Rhonda Edwards, and a half brother, Pat Archer. 

    Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Jimmie Archer of New London; a son, Michael Archer of Lewisburg, Tennessee;  a daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Joe Viger of Jefferson; a twin sister, Barbara Henry of Winchester, Virginia; a half sister, Debbie LaGrone of Troy, Alabama; a granddaughter, Winter Tjaden, two great grandchildren, Payton and Wyatt Dickard and a host of friends.

    Honorary pallbearers will be Freddy Carrillo, Payton Decco, Leo Armstrong, Billy Wayne Allen, Bill Bragg, Phoenix Carrillo, Max Carrillo, and Reggie King.

    The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Wednesday, February 14, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
