Obituary of Christine Skaggs
Services for Christine Skaggs, will be at 2:00 pm, Thursday, September 15th In the Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home Chapel, Overton. Burial will be in Overton City Cemetery.
Christine Skaggs passed away at age 63 on Sunday, September 11th at her home in Price. She was born in New York City, the youngest daughter of Angus and Effie MacDonald and attended Flushing High School. After six months in Hawaii she returned to the continental US and married Jimmy Skaggs, a career Navy man. That career gave them the opportunity to live in California, Florida and Louisiana as well as Texas.
Mrs. Skaggs was an avid reader and coin collector. Among the companies she worked for were Fairchild in California, NEC in Dallas and East Texas Microfilming in Longview, Texas.
Mrs. Skaggs is survived by her loving husband, Jimmy Skaggs, Price; a daughter, Angela Givens and son-in-law, Daniel of Dallas, son, Robert Allen Skaggs and daughter-in-law, Kimberly of Florida, son, Justin Wade Skaggs and daughter-in-law, Kelly, of Iowa, brother, Norman M. MacDonald of Chicago, sister, Murdina D. MacDonald of New Bern, NC, sisters-in-law, Joyce Foreman of Mansfield, Shirley Engledow of Monroe, Carolyn Gunn of Kilgore, brother-in-law, Ronald G. Skaggs of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, eight grandchildren, one great grandchild and many other family members.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm, Wednesday, September 14.
