Obituary of Mary Lea Sieber

Services for Mary Lea Sieber, 87, will be at 2:00 pm, Saturday, January 6, in the Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home chapel with Reverends Lindell Watson, Robert Williams, and David Walker officiating. Private burial will be in Mason Cemetery in Arp.

Mary went to Our Lord’s arms, whom she loved, on January 3, 2018. She was born in Spur, June 16, 1930 to the late Grant  and Alma Wise Thompson. She graduated New London High School, Bethany Peniel College, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and received her masters degree from Stephen F. Austin in Nacogdoches. She married John Allen Sieber August 13, 1954 and was a public school teacher for 42 years and in Overton, Haltom City, Ft. Worth, and Tyler. She was an active member of Lakeview Church of Nazarene in Tyler and Kilgore Nazarene Church.

Besides her parents, Mary was also preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, John Allen Sieber December 20, 2011, two brothers, Henry Beall Thompson, and Grant Thompson, Jr., and two sisters, Kathleen Stark and Billie Harper.

Survivors include a sisters, Lerline Stokely of Kilgore; sisters-in-law, Mrs. Henry Beall “Martha” Sieber  of Kingsville and Mrs. Grant “ Sue”  Thompson of Andrews; special family members, Thomas and Shirley Sieber; and numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
