Obituary of Mary-Edlyne Brooks Wilson

    Services for Mary-Edlyne Brooks Wilson, 75, Arp, will be at 2:00 pm, Sunday, January 7, in the Arp Emmanuel Baptist Church, with Reverend Doctor Ron Klingsick officiating. Burial will be at 10:00 am, Monday, January 8 in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio. Arrangements are under direction of Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home, Overton.   

     Mrs. Wilson passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2017 in a Tyler hospital. She was born October 10, 1942 in Jacksonville  to the late William Oliver and Mary Elizabeth Browning Brooks. She married Robert Douglas Wilson May 22, 1966 in Sweetwater and was a Registered Nurse.  She was a member of the Arp Emmanuel Baptist Church where she was very active and attended church every Sunday.

     Besides her parents, Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years on June 29, 2016.

     Survivors include a son, Robert Wilson of Arp; a daughter, Melissa Burch of San Antonio; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Kirkpatrick, Houston; six grandchildren, Elisabeth Burch, Matthew Burch, Ethan Burch, Allison Burch, Robert Wilson III, and Jordan Wilson.

    The family will receive friends at the church from 1 to 12 pm, Sunday, January 7 at the church prior to the service.
