I am so sorry to hear of this just now. I had a good talk with him and enjoyed it very much. Wish I would have know about this sooner, because had I known I would have tried to make it to the visitation and funeral. Love & prayers to all of you.Ada we are a phone call awa y if you need us. On behalf of the Jones family including my parents (Bob and Fran) and my sister (Marsha) and brother (Steve), we extend our condolences in the passing of Mr. Shannon. Both he and Adah were positive influences in our lives and I thank them for their dedication to our education and for setting a positive example. Mr. Shannon always had a smile on his face and was encouraging even when we got into trouble.
One time I will always remember is when Mr. Shannon was awakened at around 3:00 a.m. by the New London Police. He walked over to the police station hair combed looking ready to go work except for his sweater was not buttoned correctly. He took one look at us, told us to see him in his office on Monday morning, then turned around and left. That is always a great memory.

Mr. Shannon was more than just a Principal, he was a best friend and mentor. Always a smile on his face and a word of encouragement from the heart. Wen he handed me my certificate of graduation he whispered congratulations, West Rusk will never be the same, you wrote a few new chapters.Mr Shannon helped to mold his students into being their best and to stay focused and grounded. He will be greatly missed and loved, but his legacy lives on through the school he loved so much and the lives of students and many friends he touched. Gone, but not forgotten, and we will see him again.
