Obituary of Ivie 'Marie' Hutchins

            Funeral services for Ivie Marie Hughes Hutchins, 90, of Rusk, will be held 11:00am Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at Cottle Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Benny Portwood officiating. Burial will follow at Old Union Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant under the direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.

            Marie Hutchins passed away Friday, October 6, 2017 in Whitehouse. She was born December 27, 1926 in Mt. Pleasant to Emory Christian Hughes and Mabel Pearl Strange Hughes.  Marie was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and worked as a hairdresser for many years. She enjoyed going to the boats and playing the slot machines.  Marie loved to fish and was a tough woman with a strong heart. She loved her family very much.

            She is preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, four sisters, and husband, Carl F. Hutchins.

            Survivors include her children, Danny Hutchins of Rusk and Sue Hearon & husband Kenneth of Whitehouse; five grandchildren, Kori Hearon & wife Leigh-Ann, Kasey Hearon & wife Maegan, Austin Hutchins, Amanda Smith & husband David, and Dusty Shank & wife Gretchen; six great grandchildren, Hadley Hearon, Adyn Wright, Jarrett Wright, Katelyn Hearon, Macy Hearon, and Cole Shank.

            The family will receive friends and loved ones at Cottle Funeral Home from 5-7 Monday, October 9, 2017.

            In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, 10519 FM 344 E, Whitehouse, TX 75791.
