Obituary of Rev. Foster Parnell

Services for Reverend Foster H. Parnell, 84, Tyler, are scheduled for 2:00 pm, Saturday, September 3, at the Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home Chapel, Overton, with the Reverend Ronnie Glover officiating. Burial, with military honors, will be in the Ebenezer Cemetery, Arp. Rev. Parnell passed away Thursday, September 1, 2011, in Tyler, from heart complications. He was born April 18, 1927, in Tyler to the late Foster E. And Minnie Mae Attaway Parnell. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Reverend Parnell surrendered to preach in 1950 and graduated from Baptist Bible College in 1953. He has pastored churches in Texas, Missouri, Kentucky and New Jersey. Reverend Parnell was preceded in death by his wife, Willie Ruth Parnell, February 21, 2008. Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Dan and Judy Parnell, Lebanon, Missouri, and Jason Parnell, Dallas; two daughters, Patty Parnell, Dallas and Helen Bradshaw, Longview; three grandchildren, Lynnie Bradshaw, Cody Bradshaw and Paula Walters; three great grandchildren, Trevor Bradshaw and Kristin Lopez (husband Eli), and one great-great grandchild Payton Deason (Parnell); as well as many nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Cody Bradshaw, Joe Parnell, John Hood, Chris Joyner, Rohn Boone and Rick Boone. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to the Tabernacle Baptist Church Ft. Leonard Wood Ministry,P.O. Box 369, Lebanon, MO, 65536 a ministry for soldiers that Rev. Parnell began in the 1960s that is still going strong today.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from Noon until 2:00 pm, Saturday, September 3.
