Obituary of Wilma Glossbrenner

Funeral services for Wilma Glossbrenner, 72, of Troup are scheduled for 10:00 am, Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Bradford Cemetery with Reverend Wade Harman officiating. Arrangements under the direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.

Wilma passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2017. She was born February 5, 1945, to the late Ellwood Leslie Glossbrenner and Ida Louise Perry.

Wilma graduated from Troup High School in 1963 and she attended Stephen F. Austin State University. She retired from ETMC in 2004, and worked for Tyler Radiology and Cottle Funeral Home. She was a yellow dog Democrat and an avid Troup Tiger band lover. She was a very hard worker and loved her children and grandchildren. Wilma had a dry sense of humor and a quick wit that was equal to none. Wilma always had an open-door policy and was a very protective mother and friend, who never met a stranger.

Along with her parents, Wilma was preceded in death by her brother, John Glossbrenner, 2 sisters, JoAnne Jones, Ernestine Glossbrenner and granddaughter, Lindsey Stewart.

Survivors include her 5 children, Stephanie Smoot, Rhonda Jones and husband Krag, Leslye Holley, Erin Bailey, Casey Carolan, all of Troup; son-in-law, Larry Stewart of Mixon; 6 grandchildren, Christopher Jones, Nicholas Holley, Bradly Stewart, Shelby Caveness, Kaitlyn Bailey, and Andrew Jenkins; Honorary granddaughter, Taylor Lucas; great grandchildren, Mackenzie Jones, Josey Jones, and baby Kade Caveness on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved very much.

Pallbearers will be Bradly Stewart, Chris Jones, Krag Jones, Larry Stewart, Bryson Manlick, Nicholas Holley and Duane Neel.

The family will receive friends and loved ones at the Funeral Home from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Friday, September 15, 2017.
