Obituary of Kathleen Endsley

 Graveside services for Kathleen Pumphrey Endsley, 84, Overton, are scheduled for 2:00 P. M., Tuesday,  September 12, at Overton City Cemetery with Minister Chris Vadacovich officiating. Services will be under the direction of Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home, Overton.
   

Mrs. Endsley died Saturday, September 9, 2017 in Overton.  She was born March 13, 1933 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to the late Ray Pumphrey and Marie Parks Pumphrey.  She was a 1951 graduate of Overton High School and a 1953 graduate of Kilgore College with an Associate Degree.  While a student at Kilgore College, Mrs. Endsley was a member of the Kilgore College Band. After graduating from college, she married and moved to Laredo where she was a secretary to the Wing Adjutant of Laredo Air Force Base for 2 ½ years.  She also was a secretary at Red River Arsenal in Texarkana for 4 ½ years before moving to Overton in 1966 where she began her 46 year career at First State Bank in bookkeeping and then as Secretary and Administrative Assistant to the President.

   Mrs. Endsley was a member of the Overton Church of Christ where she was a Bible Class teacher for many years.  Her membership is now with the Chandler Street Church of Christ where she participated in the We Care Program. 

Besides her parents, Mrs. Ensley was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Gene Raymond Endsley and  her sister, Clista Pumphrey Key.

     Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Mickey Joe and Kay Endsley of Overton; a daughter and son-in-law, Kathy Jean and Benny Lancaster of Longview; a brother, William H. (Bill) Parks of Tyler; a sister, Jane Parks Eller of Canyon; five grandchildren, Julie Ford and husband Gary, Jason Lancaster and wife T. C, Jessica Norman and husband Jared, Halie Edney and husband Carson, and Hillarie Endsley; nine great-grandchildren, Jax and Julz Norman, Parker and Nora Lancaster,  Anna and Connor Ford, Makenzie, Macie and Maddox Sandoval,  and a soon to be tenth, Jett Edney.

     Pallbearers will be Jason Lancaster, Gary Ford, Jared Norman, Carson Edney, Ken Norris, and Pete Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be Jax Norman and Jarrell Truitt
