Obituary of Darryl James Henson

Funeral services for Darryl James ‘Snake’ Henson, 52, Overton, will be at 3:00 pm, Sunday, September 10, 2017 in the Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Atwell Hankins officiating.

    Mr. Henson passed away Friday, September 1, 2017 at his residence. He was born May 23, 1965 in Kilgore to the late James Reagan Henson and Jo Nell Dowling Henson Ammons. He was a lifelong resident of Overton and was well known in the community. His family and children meant the world to him and he loved cats. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and he was called ‘Snake’ due to his love for snake hunting.

    Besides his father, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Debbie Inman.

    Survivors include his children, Christopher James Henson of Kilgore and Courtney Diane Henson of Gonzales, Louisiana; his mother, Jo Nell Henson Ammons of Overton; three sisters and their spouses, Summer Rose Henson of Overton; Sherry Higginbotham-Bishop and husband, Oscar Bishop of Henderson, and Becky and Clint Mitchell of Longview; and numerous nieces, nephews aunts and uncles.

    Honorary pallbearers will be David King, Gary Worley, Scott Campbell, Walter Vestal, Cliff Brunson, and Clint Mitchell.

    The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Sunday, September 10, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, at the funeral home prior to the service.
