Obituary of Bonnie Ann Washington

Memorial services for Bonnie Ann Washington, 74 of Troup, will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 8, 2017 at Henry’s Chapel United Methodist Church with Reverend Nathan Briggs officiating. Arrangements are under direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.

Bonnie went home to be with the Lord Friday, September 1, 2017.  She was born July 2, 1943 in Muncie, Indiana to the late John McCoy and Marjorie Marley McCoy.

Bonnie married Phillip Washington September 28, 1963.  In 1965, she became a mother and gave birth again in 1968.  Being a mother of two boys, she had her hands full.  Bonnie was always there to see her boys off to school and would greet them when they came home.  Bonnie enjoyed being class mom and was an active member in the PTA.

Bonnie also volunteered at the Children’s Hospital in Orange County.  There she worked with terminally ill children.  After moving to Texas, she became an active member of Henry’s Chapel United Methodist Church and volunteered much time and attended bible study.

Survivors include her husband, Phillip Washington of Troup; sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Tanya Washington of Tucson, AZ and Mark and Sandy Washington of Columbus, MT; four grandchildren, Scott Washington, Dustin Grahn, Samantha Booher and Lukas Washington; great grandson, Jameson Booher.
