Obituary of Lucille Hamilton

Funeral services for Lucille Childress Hamilton, 96, of Troup, will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at Martin’s Chapel Church of the Nazarene with Reverends Andy Cox and David Baker officiating. Interment will follow at Concord Cemetery under the direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.

Lucille passed away Sunday, August 27, 2017 in Tyler. She was born March 8, 1921 in Troup to the late Sam Bob Childress and Eary Martin Childress. Lucille married the love of her life, Joe Logan Hamilton, June 26, 1949. She loved her church and family and truly enjoyed cooking and entertaining her friends and family.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Joe Logan Hamilton, two brothers, Archie Childress and Jessie Brit Childress, and a son in law, Jim Hughes.

Survivors include her son, Roger G. Hamilton & wife Sandy of Troup; daughter, Anita G. Waller & husband Rick of Tyler; two grandchildren, Marc Hamilton and Britney Hamilton; five great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Pallbearers will be Larry Kee, Marc Hamilton, Jeffery Pasley, Kevin Childress, Kyle Childress, and Kolton Beam.

Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Childress, Bobby Childress, Ronald Childress, and Mike Childress.

The family will receive friends and loved ones Tuesday night from 5-7 pm at Cottle Funeral Home in Troup.
