Obituary of Stephen Lee Schrader

 Funeral services for Stephen Lee Schrader, 76, Overton, will be at 2:00 pm, Sunday, July 30, 2017 at the First United Methodist Church in Overton with Reverend Fred Parsons officiating. Interment will follow at Overton City Cemetery under the direction of Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home, Overton.

 Steve passed away Thursday, July 27, 2017 in a Tyler hospital. He was born February 24, 1941 in Albany, Oregon to the late Frank Schrader and Ruth Patterson Walter. Stephen graduated from Lebanon High School in Lebanon, Oregon and Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana and worked as a professional engineer until his retirement. He served in the U.S. Air Force as a Flight Simulator Specialist at Webb Air Force Base in Big Spring from 1960-1964. He married Wanda Skaggs and together they had one child. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Overton and for leisure, he enjoyed golf, time with his family, and walking and playing with his beloved dog, Ofi.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda of Overton; three children, Stephanie Schrader of Austin, Tamara Schrader of Houston, and Frederick Schrader of Brookston, Indiana; four sisters, Susan Schrader Smith of Beaverton, Oregon, Kathy Walter of Clackamas, Oregon, Jennifer Walter of Lebanon, Oregon, and Lori Walter of Portland, Oregon; one aunt, Doris Martin of Portland, Oregon; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

Pallbearers will be George Philley, Will Roberson, Johnnie Griffin, Tom Prien, Tony Chiles and Jim Hamblen.
