Obituary of Juanita Evelyn Watson
Juanita Evelyn Watson passed away Saturday, July 8, 2017, with her family at her bedside. She was born April 19, 1922 to the late William Riley and Cosie Anna Pounds Foshee in their home in Glenwood, Arkansas.
She married James Wesley Watson on September 1, 1941. They had three sons. She joined the Salem Primitive Baptist Church in Troup, in 1954 and has been a member of Fellowship Primitive Baptist Church in East Mountain for many years. She was devoted to her family and always made sure her sons were taken care of, even if it meant she had to do it without things she might have needed.
After the children were grown she enjoyed working with the public at Skillerns Drug Store for many years. She also volunteered at Laird Memorial Hospital and really enjoyed helping the patients there. Her latest employment was with Louis Morgan Drug in Overton. She was well liked by her customers there.
Juanita had three sons, Jimmy Watson of New London, Jerry Watson and wife Phyllis of Gallatin, Tennessee, and Jack Watson and wife Jeanie of Azle; eight grandchildren; Heather Alarcon and husband Brandon, Melisa Sanders and husband Scott, Alicia Flowers and husband Michael, Mary Guess, Danial Watson and wife Amy, Joseph Watson and wife Jessica, Hannah Yee and husband Jeffrey, and Rachael Watson; nine great grandchildren; Brittany, Emily, Crista, Haley, Lincoln, Ian, Joel, Jack and Henry. She is also survived by a sister Desiree Mitchell of Longview, one brother-in-law J.F. Watson of Little Rock, Arkansas; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Juanita will be greatly missed.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Alarcon, Daniel Watson, Joseph Watson, Jimmy Watson, Jerry Watson, and Jack Watson.
Services for Juanita Evelyn Watson, 95, of New London, will be Thursday July 13, 2017 at 11:00am at the Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Jimmy Stripland officiating. Graveside services will be at 1:00pm at Rosewood Park in Longview.
Visitation will be Wednesday July 12, 2017 from 6pm-8pm at the Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home, Overton.
