Obituary of Dewey M. ‘Bud’ Crew
Services for Dewey M. 'Bud' Crew, 86, Troup are scheduled for 10:00 am, Tuesday, August 30, at the Henry's Chapel United Methodist Church with the Reverend David Goodwin officiating. Burial will be in the Henry's Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.
Mr. Crew died Friday, August 26, in Tyler. He was born October 29, 1924, in Orange to the late Walter Dewey and Dessie Wallace Crew. He graduated from Orange High School and attended Lamar University.
A member of the U.S. Army infantry, he was a veteran of World War II serving in the Battle of Iwo Jima. He retired from the Chevron "Gulf" Refinery, Port Arthur.
Mr. Crew married Inez Barron, November 1, 1951. She preceded him in death April 7, 1997.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded by a brother Walter Alonzo Crew.
Survivors include a son, Jay Crew, Troup; a step brother, William 'Bill' Dunn, Orange; a step sister, Bonnie Dean, Orange; and other relatives and friends.
Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Henry's Chapel United Methoidst Church, ? Susan Martin, 4397 FM 13 East, Troup, Texas 75789.
Pallbearers will be M.J. Florence, Larry Florence, Wes Barron, James Branham, Bill Clem and Andy Tarver.
