Obituary of Devena Hamilton Worl

Funeral services for Devena Beth Worl 62 of Whitehouse, Tx. will be held 2:00 pm

Thursday, June 22, 2017, at First United Methodist Church of Troup, with Brother Sherman

Mayfield, Pastor Tommy Earl Burton and Pastor Wade Harman will be

Officiating. A reception will follow the service.

Devena passed away June 16, 2017. She was born December 15, 1954 to the late George T.

Hamilton and Myrtle Dowdy Hamilton in Tyler. Devena was a homemaker for many years but

was also a banking teller and worked in retail for many years. Devena owned her

own bakery, her favorite things to do were baking her delicious cookies and

her amazing pies.

Devena had a very strong faith in the Lord and loved serving in any way she

could. She was raised in the Assembly of God church where she loved to sing and

praise the Lord.

Devena was a loving person to not only her family, but to anyone she met.

She married the love of her life August 11, 1973.

Devena is preceded in death by her parents, Father in law Joseph H. Worl and brother in law Jim Jarvis.

She married the love of her life August 11, 1973, Steven Joseph Worl and he survives her, along with their 2 children Shandye Nizio and husband James of Frisco and Wesley Worl of Whitehouse .Other  survivors include: sisters and brothers in law Doyce and Allen Harris of Murphy, Dinah and Rick Randall of McKinney, Rhonda and Brooks Herrick of Richardson and brother and sister in law Gary and Patricia Hamilton of Whitehouse, mother in law Carolyn Worl of Troup, sister in law Susan Jarvis of Troup and brother in law Rex and wife Kim Worl of Whitehouse, 3 grandchildren: Chandler, Carter, and Chase whom she always said were her babies. Also numerous other relatives and friends.
