Obituary of Karen Sue Bond

     Funeral services for Karen Bond, 59, of Magnolia, will be held Saturday, June 17, 2017, 10:00 AM at Cottle Funeral Home chapel, Troup. Reverends Steven Oaks and Shane Noble will be officiating the service with interment to follow at Concord Cemetery, under the direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup. The family will receive friends and loved ones Friday, June 16, 2017 from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
     Karen passed away Friday, June 9, 2017 in The Woodlands after courageous battles with Crohn’s Disease and breast cancer. She was born April 22, 1958 in Carthage, Texas to the late Robert Wesley Kee and Bonnie Elizabeth Hixon. She graduated in 1976 from Carlisle High School in Price, Texas. She grew up in Marshall and Price, and then moved to the Dallas area where she met her husband. Together they lived there and then in the Austin area, Arlington, Tyler, and Magnolia.
     Karen was an incredible person who was devoted to her family. Her greatest joys were her husband and daughter. She was a stay-at-home mom who used her immense talents for crafts, scrapbooking, decorating and event planning to enrich other’s lives. She volunteered countless hours at the school PTO, serving as secretary on the PTO Board. She was humble in everything she did and had a true servant’s heart. Karen also loved to travel with her family, road-tripping and camping all over the United States. She also enjoyed shopping, reading, cooking, and simply spending time with friends and family. 
     Karen was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband of nearly 34 years Scott “Chach” Bond of Magnolia; daughter Brooke Angeline Bond of Magnolia; sisters Jacque Kee Creech of Carthage and Patty Kee Campbell of Arp; brother Johnny Kee and Becky of Bullard; sisters-in-law Lynne Bond of Kerrville and Lisa Bond Hill and Eric of Boerne; and brother-in-law Tim Bond and Sally of Clear Lake. She also leaves behind many treasured nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
     Pallbearers will be Larry Brown, Landen Brown, Zachary Deramee, Jody Martin, Austin Hill, Kyle Hill, Eric Hill, Tim Bond, and Tucker Brown.
    There will also be a memorial service remembering Karen at Wildwood United Methodist Church in Magnolia on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at 3:00 PM.
