Obituary of Hughlan Warren
Service for William Hughlan Warren, 76, Humble, will be at 10:30 am, Saturday, August 27, in the First Baptist Church, Arp. Interment will be in the Mason cemetery under the direction of Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home, Overton.
Mr. Warren passed away Wednesday, August 24, after a lengthy illness. Hughlan was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He had a spirit that was indomitable and this characterized him to his final day.
Hughlan was born in Arp and lived there until he was an adult. He began his professional career with Mid-Continent Supply Company as a store clerk and soon became a very successful sales representative for that firm and later becoming a senior manager for them, covering a period of over 30 years. His outgoing personality and positive outlook served him well in this capacity and opened doors for him in other pursuits after Mid-Continent closed their operations. He later was employed by Robbins and Myers Pump and Coastal Oil Company.
Hughlan was an avid sportsman, enjoying boating, fishing, baseball, football, basketball and he loved golf. Later, when he could not play, he drove around the course in his cart talking to golfers. He said he often dreamed of playing again, and always kept a great attitude about his limitations.
Hughlan is survived by his loving wife, Juta Warren, Humble; children, Terri Reynolds and husband, Peter and Diane Gano; grandchildren, Nicholas and Alexandra Reynolds and Montgomery Gano; brother, Garland Gwen Warren; sister, Linda Rogers; and numerous nieces and nephews. He will be sorely missed.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm on Friday, August 26, at Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home, Overton
