Obituary of Edith Anne Parish

Funeral services for Edith Anne Parish, 78, of Lake Cherokee, will be at 2:00 pm Tuesday, June 13, in the Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home Chapel in Overton with Reverend Ted White officiating. Burial will follow in Mason Cemetery in Arp.

Mrs. Parish passed away Wednesday, June 7, 2017 in a Longview hospital. She was born July 20, 1938 in Gilmer to the late Otto Omar and Beulah Park Ashley and married Don Parish February 6, 1958 in Arp. She worked 23 years for Mr. Spiffy’s Carwash in Longview and had a big heart and helped many people. She was an avid reader, loved drift fishing and was an excellent cook and wife. She was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church at Lake Cherokee.

Besides her parents, Mrs. Parish was also preceded in death by four siblings, Roger Ashley, Marie Roberson, Iris Rash, and Dave Ashley.

Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Don Parish of Lake Cherokee; three children and their spouses, Donna and Keith Pannell of White Oak, Susan Parish and Phillip Walker of Dallas, and Mark Parish of Lake Cherokee; four brothers and sisters, Merle Hall of Gilmer, Nancy Nunner of Longview, John Ashley of Lake of the Pines, and Jerry Ashley of Gilmer; six grandchildren, Amber Pannell and Katie Pannell of Arizona, Landon Parish of Dallas, Paul Parish of Longview, Aftin Cooper of White Oak and Aaron Pannell of Austin; two great grandchildren, Bailey and Marley Cooper of White Oak; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Monday, June 12.
