Obituary of John Reuben Jones

John Reuben Jones, our firstborn, passed from this Earth to glory, Thursday, May 18, 2017. Reuben, a 2000 graduate from Arp High School, attended Tyler Junior College and began a career in oilfield pumping. Reuben was born in Tyler, Texas, April 8, 1982 to Donnie and Theresa Jones. He is the oldest of their 5 children.

He was preceded in death by his aunt, Jerri Lynn Bitar; and his grandfathers, Raymond (Bubba) Jones and Jerry Moore, all of Arp, Texas.

Reuben's grandmothers are Punk Jones and Katie Moore of Arp.

He is also survived by Jamie Musick Ehl, mother of their children: Jaxon Reuben Jones and Jaycee Grace Jones.

Reuben’s siblings and spouses include:  David Jones and Misty Basham and Cory and Tara Ritzma who reside in Tyler. Donnie Jr. and Dr. Danielle Jones of Temple, Texas, and Nadia and Tyler Allmon of Flint, Texas.

Reuben is survived by his Uncle Brad and Beverly Jones, Aunt Jeannie and Gary Stout,  Aunt Jackie Jones of the Arp area.  Also, Aunt Becky and Allen Orr of Lake Jackson,  Aunt Mary and Clifton Mire of Chandler, and Aunt Jonnie and Hubert Buford of St. Martinville, Louisiana.  

His cousins include Kristi Lee Pierce of Troup, Shanna Williams and Billy Stout of Whitehouse;  Ashley Davis, Austin Jones, Brandi Jones, Ellen Newbury and Austin Lusk, all of Arp. His cousins include Meagan Gann, Hayley Orr, Cliff Mire, Jennifer Boudreaux, and Cheree’Landeverde.

Visitation for Reuben Jones is Saturday, May 20 at Cottle Funeral Home in Troup, from 5-7pm.

Services will be under the supervision of Paul Rains and Leon Batchelor, Sunday, May 21st, 3:00 PM at Lakeview Community Church, directed by Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.

Pallbearers are David Jones, Jody Bradshaw, Frankie Flym, Jason Ishee, Dustin Hamilton and Brandon (BJ) Richmond.

Honorary pallbearers are Donnie Jones Jr, Tyler Allmon, Cory Ritzma, David Bane, John Ray McDonald, Wesley Arnold, Jesse Arnold, Josh Duffy, Danny Lipscomb and so many men that love our John Reuben.
