Obituary of Ellen Bolton Tomlin

Funeral services for Ellen Bolton Tomlin, 64, of Troup, will be held Monday, May 22, 2017 2:00pm at Cottle Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Sharon Walker will be officiating the service with interment to follow at Tecula Cemetery, under the direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.

Ellen Tomlin passed away Thursday, May 18, 2017 in Troup. She was born September 30, 1952 in Jacksonville to the late Lee and Essie Thomason Bolton. Ellen loved her grandpuppies and enjoyed her family. She liked sewing and was a workaholic. She was an excellent certified nurse's assistant and truly enjoyed being around people.

She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Ruby Hamilton, and nephew Ricky Hamilton.

Survivors include her children, Kimberly Socia & husband Zach of Troup and Josh Tomlin & wife Tracey of Henderson; three brothers, Eldred Lee Bolton of New Summerfield, Kenneth Bolton & wife Carolyn and Raymond Bolton all of Tyler; five sisters, Carol Linkinhoker & husband David of Kilgore, Delores Jeske & husband Nolan of Troup, Shirley Pixley & husband Joe of Linden, Rosemary Tomlin & husband Roy of Tyler, and Bonnie Berg of Longview; five grandchildren, Zac Clague, Jordan Clague, Wesley Tomlin, Brianna Williams and Preston Tomlin.

Pallbearers will be Bubba Tomlin, Brian Tomlin, Michael Bolton, Zac Clague, Wesley Tomlin, and Bradley Bolton.

The family will receive friends and loved ones Sunday, May 21, 2017 from 6-8pm at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to Hospice of East Texas, 4111 University Blvd. Tyler, TX 75701.
