Obituary of Stephanie Lynn Owens

Funeral services for Stephanie Lynn Pitts Owens, 53 of Kilgore will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, April 8, in the Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home Chapel, Overton, with Reverend Donald Owens officiating. Burial will be in the Overton City Cemetery, Overton. Heaven gained another angel when Stephanie passed away, April 4, 2017. She was born February 19, 1964 in Overton. Stephanie was the daughter of James R. Pitts Jr. and Claire Madden Sanches. She attended school in Overton School District. She married Mark Owens on February 10, 2001. She never met a stranger and greeted everyone with a warm smile and a hug. Stephanie worked in the public most of her life, her biggest love was managing her husband's band. Stephanie was preceded in death by her grandparents, Gilbert and Margaret Madden, her father, James R. Pitts, Jr., and her step-father, Julius Sanches. She is survived by her husband of 16 years, Mark Owens; two sons, Christopher and Robert Brown; step-daughters, Jenny Pierson, Amanda White, Krista Flanagan; and step-sons, Chance and Mark Owens, Jr.; sister and brother-in-law, Leslie and Jeff Cain; brother and sister-in-law, James R. Pitts III and Patti; her mother, Claire Sanches; her aunt and uncle, Carol and Bruce Riley; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Donald and Susan Owens. Stephanie was the grandmother of 14 grandchildren, and loved every one of them; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends. Pallbearers will be Terry Tucker, Justin White, Jodie Crocker, Joe Clark, Jerry Storer, and Ivan Padron.
