Obituary of Mary Virginia Coombs

Funeral services for Mary V. ‘Jennie’ Coombs, 82, of Troup, will be held 2:00 pm, Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at Cottle Funeral Home. Brother Mike Ledbetter will be officiating the service with interment following at Bradford Cemetery under the direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup. Jennie passed away Sunday, April 2, 2017. She was born August 31, 1934 to David Michael Marsh and Lucile Burton Marsh in Troup. She worked for many years as the bookkeeper at Troup Hardware and as a greeter at Walmart in Henderson. Jennie attended Carlisle First Baptist Church and loved serving the Lord. She liked decorating and celebrating Christmas at her house, where she always had a present for everyone in the family. Jennie was an incredible person who loved and supported her family with a smile on her face. Jennie is preceded in death by her parents and two sons, Robert Leslie Raymond and James David Raymond. Survivors include her children, Jarrel Wayne Raymond of Troup, Michael Joe Raymond of Rusk, John Mark Raymond of Troup, and Rhonda Gail Raymond Alberto of Troup; brothers, Otis Marsh & wife Frankie of Pittsburg, Jerrill Marsh & wife Pat of Troup, and Charles Marsh of Carlisle; sister, Ruth Marsh Waits of Bowie; 2 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; also, numerous other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Jennie’s honor to the Carlisle Alumni Association, PO Box 13, Price, TX 75687, Carlisle First Baptist Church, PO Box 101, Price, TX 75687, or Kindred Hospice, 1750 Enterprise St #100, Athens, TX 75751.
