Obituary of Jack K. Murray

Funeral services for Jack K. Murray, 81, of Troup, will be held 2:00 pm Sunday, March 12, 2017 at Cottle Funeral Home with Reverend Steven Oakes officiating. Interment will follow at Union Grove Cemetery under the direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup. Jack Murray passed away Thursday, March 9, 2017 in Tyler. He was born October 14, 1935 in Konawa, Oklahoma to Bose and Ina Belle Ingram Murray. Jack ran Exxon Service Stations in Overton, New London, and Troup. He served as the President of Troup ISD for five years during the mid-70s, and attended Bible Baptist Church for several years. Jack was a rancher and farmer, and he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jo Murray and his parents. Survivors include his sons, Dudley Murray & wife Lisa and Jackie Murray & wife Lela all of Troup; brother, Bill Murray of Oklahoma City, OK; sisters, Pauline Spencer, Helen Klutz, and Ruth Gideon, all of Oklahoma City, OK; grandchildren, Christopher Murray, Crystal Robles & husband Ruben, Tiffany Taylor & husband Spencer, Justin Keith Murray & wife Laci, Whitney McCallister & husband Jarrad, and Brandy Murray & Britt Austin; also, eleven great grandchildren. Honorary Pallbearers will be Theodore H. Johnson, Billy Melton, and Billy Witt. The family will receive friends and loved ones at Cottle Funeral Home Saturday, March 11, 2017 from 6-8pm.
