Obituary of Nancy Evelyn Austin

Services for Nancy Evelyn Austin, 68, Frisco, are scheduled for 4:00 p.m., Friday, March 10, in the Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Shelby Davidson officiating. Burial will be in Williams Cemetery in Chapel Hill. Mrs. Austin passed away peacefully at Medical City in Dallas Monday, March 6, 2017. She was born December 31, 1948 in Gregg County to the late Robert Harold Layne, Jr. and Oma Sylvia Worley Layne. Nancy loved Jesus, and she loved writing and poetry. She loved her family and she was very generous. She never met a stranger and she never turned anyone down. Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Larry Austin and a sister, Audrey Williams. Survivors include three children, Joe Cummings and wife Martha, Frisco, Robby Cummings, Frisco, and Zandria Johnson of Gordonville; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert Layne III and Nona of Euless, a sister and brother-in-law, Betty Lou Fowler and Steve of Mineola; seven grandchildren, Alexus Johnson, Alanis Johnson, Savannah Cummings Nichols, Justin Cummings, Sabrina Cummings, Ashlyn Cummings and Payton Cummings; a great granddaughter, Allison Nichols; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3:00 pm until 4:00 pm, Friday, March 10, prior to the service. Pallbearers will be nephews and family friends.
