Obituary of Richard Stanley Howard

Services for Richard Stanley Howard, 57, Nacogdoches, formerly of Arp, will be at 10 AM Friday, December 30, at Arp Emmanuel Baptist Church, Arp, with Reverend Tony Henson officiating. Burial will be in Ebenezer Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home, Overton. Mr. Howard passed away peacefully Wednesday, December 27, 2016 in a Nacogdoches hospital surrounded by his loving family and friends. Stan was born September 22, 1959 in Tyler to the late James Weldon Howard and Barbara Butler Howard. He moved to Nacogdoches from Arp in 2002 and worked in pipeline construction for oil and water in the oilfield. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding around hunting deer with his dog “Rocky”. He was a jokester and loved pulling pranks and he loved hanging out with his best friend in the world, Scott. He was a member of Arp Emmanuel Baptist Church. Stan was preceded in death by his father, Weldon Howard; sister, Sheldon Rene Donelson and his Aunt Sue Johnson and Uncle Ike Johnson. He is survived by his two daughters, Kaysie Howard of Lufkin and Cheyenne Howard of Nacogdoches; his mother, Barbara Howard of Nacogdoches; a brother-in-law, Rollin Donelson of Austin; two nephews, Tyler Donelson of Charlotte, North Carolina and Jake Donelson of Dallas. Pallbearers will be Rollin Donelson, Tyler Donelson, Scott Stiles, Kyle Chambliss, Tyler Johnson and Jerry Raines. Visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Thursday, December 29 at the funeral home.
