Obituary of Tommy R. Linthicum
Visitation for Tommy R. Linthicum, age 87, of Longview, is scheduled for Wednesday, December 7, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the family residence.
Mr. Linthicum passed away December 3, 2016, at his residence in Longview. He was born August 21, 1929 in New Salem (Rusk County) to the late Tom G. and Erma L. Lee Linthicum. He married Artie Marie Gibbs September 11, 1953 in New Salem, TX. He is a Veteran of the US Army, and worked as a truck driver. He loved working and fishing. He dearly loved his family and enjoyed people in general. He was a great husband, daddy and granddaddy.
Besides his parents, Mr. Linthicum was preceded in death by a sister, Melba McDowell.
Survivors include His wife of 63 years, Artie Linthicum, Longview, a daughter, Shawn L. Dyess, Longview; a brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Sue Linthicum of Cushing; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Jean Lloyd, and Elaine and Kenneth Wade all of Sacul; two grandsons and their wives, Briggs G. and Jennifer Dyess of Longview and Bransen R. and Monica Dyess of White Oak; three great grandchildren, Mackenzie, Jaxton, and Kinlea; and chosen sons, Darrell Gilbert and Tony Mathis.
