Obituary of Marjorie Waldrop

Graveside services for Margie R. Waldrop, 86, Troup, will be at 9:00 am, Friday, August 5, at the Waldrop Cemetery, Fair Play, Panola County, with Reverend Doctor Paul Saylors officiating under direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup. Mrs. Waldrop died Tuesday, August 2, 2011 in Whitehouse. She was born October 12, 1924 in Stamps, Arkansas to the late Lonnie and Allene Moreland Cook. She married Glynn Waldrop December 12, 1942 in Marshall and moved to Troup in 1974. She was a homemaker and had been a member of the Eastern Star. She is a member of the First Baptist Church and before her illness, she was active with the Senior Adults. Besides her parents, Mrs. Waldrop was preceded in death by her husband,  Glen Waldrop, June 29, 2009.  Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Cindy Waldrop, Houston and Gary and Loretta Waldrop, Prosper; two daughters and a son-in-law, Sue Bratton, Troup and Linda and Mike Allen, San Saba; a brother, W. E. Cook, DeBary, Florida; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and 3 nephews. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Thursday, August 4.  Online registration and condolences are available at www.cottlefuneralhome.com.
