Lee Veal posted a condolence

Sible was my mother-in-law from Dec 24, 1967 until her daughter, Carol Ann (Evans) Veal, died on June 21, 2010. However, after over 42 years of 'officially' being my mother-in-law, I still considered her as such.
Back in 1966-67, I was living in Tyler, Texas attending Tyler Junior College, when I met Carol and we started our courtship. I'd often spend weekends at the Evans home in Troup, Texas, just 20 miles south of Tyler. Sible was an excellent pie maker, all of which I liked. When she learned that my favorite pie was pecan pie, she always made sure that she had one at the ready if she knew that I'd be visiting.
While Sible was being cared for at Elmcroft in Austin, I'd usually visit her when I was in the area. (I live in Mexico, so don't travel north to Texas very often.) I'd talk to her; my stock question was, "Do you remember your daughter?" To which she'd nod then answer, "Yes, Carol Ann." She could never recall my name, so, I'd tell her, "I was married to Carol Ann for over 42 years." She'd usually nod, but I never knew what she was thinking. However, the look on her face seemed to be one saying 'Oh, you were the one...' or maybe it was 'Thank you for taking care of my daughter for so long.' I choose the latter.
Sible, you were very dearly loved and you will be greatly missed.
