Obituary of Steven Lee Singletary
Memorial services for Steven Lee Singletary, 55 of Troup, will be at 11:00 am, Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Cottle Funeral Home Chapel. Wesley McCasland will be officiating the service, under the direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.
Steve Singletary passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 in Troup, Texas. He was born in Beaumont, Texas on April 22, 1960, to George Thomas Singletary and Bonnie Jean Ward. He was a lifelong resident of East Texas, a Baptist and attended Whitehouse Schools. He worked as a heavy equipment operator and truck driver for many years. Steve was a member of the Laney-Gambrell American Legion Post 418 in Troup, and loved the outdoors, spending countless hours camping, hunting, fishing, horseback riding and shooting his guns.
Steve is preceded in death by his parents, a brother James Don Rawls, nephew Joel Singletary and niece Lindsey Barton.
Survivors include his son, Steven J. Singletary of Chapel Hill; daughter, Andrea Johnson & husband Justin of Crowley; two sisters, Barbara Rawls Barton & husband Lee of Troup, Susan Wiggins also of Troup; brother, George Singletary of Troup; step parents, Claude & Pat Wiggins of Nederland; two grandchildren, Jayden and Emma Singletary; special friends, Edwin & Joann Northcutt; also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
