Obituary of J. E. Roberson
Services for J.E. (Brager) ' Big Momma' Roberson, 81, Cedar Hill, formerly of Overton, will be at 11:00 am, Sarturday, July 30, at Zion Baptist Church, Overton, with Rev. Billie Medlock, Rev. Peggy Taylor, and Rev. Jimmy Nelson officiating. Burial will be in the Overton City Cemetery under direction of Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home, Overton.
The celebration of life for Mrs. Roberson began on October 5, 1929 in Overton to the parentage of the late Bud and Josie Howard. On July 21, 2011, with her beautiful smile she received her wings in heaven.
At an early age, she united with Zion Baptist Church. Mrs. Roberson attended school in New London and took cake decorating classes at Kilgore Jr. College. Mrs. Roberson loved to cook and bake and was well known for her fried pies.
She married M.T. Brager, who preceded her in death, and three girls were born. Later in life, she married Oscar Roberson, who also preceded her in death. In heaven Mrs. Roberson will be greeted by her family, sisters, Lorene Howard, Fannie Bell Brown, Annie Bell Hill, Mae Lewis Smith, and her brother Ozell Howard. What a day of rejoicing that will be.
Her memories will be cherished by her daughters and a son-in-law, Bonita and Kenneth Kennedy, Glenda Kay Brager and Geneva Brager; her granddaughters who brought joy and love to her life, Cassandra and William Brager-Friend, Kim and Karia Adams, Shonda and Rodney Kennedy-Ward and Natasha Kennedy. She was blessed with two great granddaughters, Gabrielle Buchanan and Mahalia Adams and one precious great grandson Karia Adams. She will also be remembered by her sisters and a brother-in-law, Cammie Booker, Loyace Walker, and Betty and H.B. Bryant. She will be missed by a host of nieces, nephews, and her special adopted family and friends from Dallas.
Pallbearers will be Marvin Howard, Kwane West, Courtney Howard, Charles Jackson, Sylvester Marshall and Jim Hawkins.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Kenneth L. Kennedy, Rodney Ward, Bobby Pegues, William Friend, Bobby Johnson and Trey Adams. Flower Bearers will be family and friends.
