Obituary of Danny Wayne Dean

Funeral services for Danny Dean, 66, of Mixon, will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at the First Baptist Church, Mixon with Reverend Chris Cliborne officiating. Interment will follow at Mixon Cemetery under the direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup. Danny Dean went to be with his Heavenly Father on Monday, February 1, 2016 at his home in Mixon, Texas. Mr. Dean was born in Glenco, Alabama to the late Alvin Harris Dean and Emily McCain Dean. Danny was a carpenter/builder who lived in the Troup area since 2004. He was a dedicated member of the First Baptist Church of Mixon and a former Deacon of the Mixon Missionary Baptist Church. Danny was a proud member of the NRA and truly enjoyed taking care of the Navajo Indian Children, as well as his fellow veterans. Danny also liked to spend his time hunting and fishing, but he truly loved his family and other children. Mr. Dean was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin & Emily Dean. He is survived by his wife, Kathy Dean of Mixon; children, Danny Dwayne Dean of Grass Valley, California, Rafe Dean & wife Melanie of Mixon, Cheri Bell & husband Jeff of Whitehouse; brother, Benny Dean of Alabama; sisters, Jean Hawkins of Tyler, Peggy Kurtz of Murchison, Betty Kirkpatrick of Tyler; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. The family will receive friends and loved ones prior to the service on Wednesday, February 3, 2016, 12:00-2:00 pm at First Baptist Church, Mixon.
