Obituary of Jennie Egger
Graveside services for Jennie Egger, 75, Leverett's Chapel, are scheduled for 10:00 am, Wednesday, July 27, at the Kilgore City Cemetery with Reverend Lee Bryan officiating, under the direction of Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home, Overton.
Mrs. Egger died Sunday, July 24, in a Longview hospital. She was born August 5, 1935, in Leon County, Texas to the late Ira Benjamin Laningham and Bertha Agnes Whinery Laningham. She moved to East Texas from Oakwood 59 years ago.
She was a member of the Living Word Church, Kilgore, was a homemaker and a great cook.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by brothers, Floyd Brown, Victor Brown, Ira Benjamin Laningham, Jr. and sisters, Mae Laningham, Dorothy Mudd and Martha Henson.
Mrs. Egger married Reverend Fred Egger, March 2, 1952, in Oakwood.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Reverend Fred Egger, Leverett's Chapel; a son, Jonathan Egger, Leverett's Chapel; two daughters and sons-in-law, Terica and Glenn Wilson, Leverett's Chapel and Laura and Walter Lee Jones, Jr., Henderson; a brother and sister-in-law, J.W. and Mary Ann Laningham, Grapeland; nine grandchildren, Kristina Brooks, Tiffany Jones, Tristan Jones, Kyndell Wilson, Jaseman Wilson, Walter Jones, III, Michael Jones, Alexander Jones and Alexus Jones; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Tuesday, July 26.
