Obituary of Quinten Kee

Funeral services for Quinten H. Kee, 86, Troup, are scheduled for 10:00 am Friday, June 15, at the Martin's Chapel Church of the Nazarene with the Reverends D. L. Stuart and M.H. Klink officiating. Burial, with military honors, will be in the Concord Cemetery, near Troup, under the direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup. Mr. Kee died Tuesday, June 12, 2007 at his residence. He was born January 23, 1921 in the Woodlawn Community near Marshall to the late James Homer and Mattie May Patterson Kee. He lived most of his life in the Concord Community. He married Mary Helen Ellis July 22, 1940 in the Sand Flat Community, Smith County. He served in the US Navy during WW II from 1945 until 1946. He was a very good farmer and rancher and retired from the Carlisle Independent School District where he worked as a bus driver. He traveled with the 'Gophers', visiting almost all of the states in the US. He attended Martin's Chapel Church of the Nazarene. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Mary Beth Kee; the mother who raised him, Jewell McDougal Kee; and three brothers, James Kee, Dee Kee, and Max Kee. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Helen Kee, Concord Community; three sons and daughters-in-law, Lloyd and Mary Kee, Good Springs Community, Kenneth and Ann Kee, New Summerfield, Danny and Jeanne Kee, Concord; a daughter and son-in-law, Faye and Larry Beene, Concord; two brothers and five sisters-in-law, Carlos and Pauline Kee, Troup, Jean and Beth Kee, Good Springs Community, Lillie Kee, Nacogdoches, Terri Kee, Kermit, Emma Jean Philpot, Joy Community; a sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Wes Stites, Canon City, Colorado; a brother-in-law, Delma Ellis, Cedar Creek; ten grandchildren, Cindy Broadway, Larry Kee, Lee Johnson, Anna Outenreath, Jamie Beene, Nicholaus Kee, Billy Cole Kee, Jeramie Kee, Jessie Kee and Justin Nelson; twelve great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and the remaining "Gophers". Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Reverend D. L. Stuart, Logan Hamilton, Strick Burton, and Bud Eaton. Visitation will be from 6:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Thursday, June 14, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Concord Cemetery Association, Rt. 2, Box 135, Troup, Texas 75789.
