Obituary of Joseph A. Leinard

Graveside memorial services for Joseph A. Leinard, 71, Overton, will be at 10:00am Sunday, July 5, at Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Overton with Chaplain John McCarty officiating. Arrangements are under direction of Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home, Overton. Mr. Leinard died Sunday, June 28, 2015 at his residence. He was born October 26, 1943 in Berry, Illinois to the late Harvey and LaVinia Katherine Williams Leinard. He was a self-employed carpet layer in Illinois and moved to Henderson, Texas in 1983 to work for SunVilla Mobile Home Manufacturing. He later went to work in the oilfield for Lebus OilField Services as a bob-tail driver for 18 years. He later relocated to Overton where he retired. He enjoyed yard work and had a passion for guns. He loved watching western movies, doing woodwork and he loved his family. Besides his parents, Mr. Leinard was also preceded in death by a son, Douglas Wayne Leinard, a sister, Alice Newman, and a half brother and sister, Perle Leinard and Chloe Ward. Survivors include his wife, Kay Leinard, Overton; two sons, Dwayne Andrew and spouse Tyler Leinard of Melbourne, Australia; and Dustin and wife, Melinda Leinard of Gary; two stepdaughters and stepson-in-law, Sheree and Shelby Garrison, Marshall; and Shelley Jackson, Overton; a sister, Linda Hall, Decatur, Illinois; a brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Joy Leinard, Mills, Wyoming; nine grandchildren, Terra Leinard, Lindsey Leinard, Cheyenne Kokko, Fernando Castaneda, Juan Castaneda, Cynthia Castaneda, Grant Garrison, Wade Garrison, and Brooke Garrison; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends. The family would like to express their gratitude for the care and kindness shown to Joe & his family during his final days by the staff of Marshall Home Health & Hospice.
