Claude was a close friend, particularly of my parents, L.T. and Jo Robinson, and, I, too, claim him as a friend. He was a WWII hero to me; I knew he had been gravely wounded in combat against the Japanese. He (and my father) had been married with two children when they were drafted into the infantry; both saw ground combat in their respective theaters (Pacific-Europe), both wives had endured the separation, and not knowing, as did so many of that generation. That, I think, is the bond between all combat veterans and spouses.
I salute you, Claude, and wish you well on this new journey.
