Obituary of Christine Brandon Hackett
Services for Christine Brandon Hackett, 97,Whitehouse, will be at 11:00 am, Tuesday, March 17, at the Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home chapel, Overton, with the Dr. Ray Davis officiating. Burial will be in the Mason Cemetery, Arp.
Mrs. Hackett died Saturday, March 14, 2015 in Tyler. She was born January 24, 1918 in Overton to the late Will and Susan Virtie Sloan Brandon. She graduated Overton High School and attended Stephen F. Austin in Nacogdoches. On July 31, 1937 she married Ernest W. Hackett in Overton and was a homemaker. She lived in Rockport and Frankston before moving back to Overton in 1980 and was a member of the First Baptist Church, Overton.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hackett was also preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Ernest W. Hackett on May 7, 2002, and a granddaughter, Kristie Sue Walker, a sister, Leta Baskin, nephew, Scott King.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Buddy Walker, Whitehouse; a granddaughter and grandson, Robbie and Derek Hawkins, Keller; two great-grandchildren, Jackson and Sydney Hawkins; sisters, Helen Plunkett, Tyler, and Joyce King Tyler; nephews, Bob Plunkett and wife Judy, Bill Plunkett, Don King, Roy Lee Hackett and wife Diane, and niece, Pam Hackett.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be Derek Hawkins, Jackson Hawkins, Bob Plunkett, Bill Plunkett, Don King, Paul Chambless, and Jerry Sanders.
The family would like to express deep appreciation to Dr. Duane Andrews, Dr. Perry Wallach, Debbie Caryle for their excellent care and loving kindness during mothers long journey.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Whitehouse Building Fund, 801 E. Main, Whitehouse, TX 75791.
