Obituary of Bill Wade Adams
Funeral services for Bill Wade Adams, 44, Troup, are scheduled for 2:00 pm, Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at First Baptist Church, Troup with Reverend Steven Oakes officiating. Burial will be in the Salem Cemetery under the direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.
Bill went to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday, February 21, 2015 at his residence. He was born November 14, 1970 in Henderson, Texas, to Howard Roland Adams, Sr. and Judy Ann Holdren Adams.
Bill was independently employed as a land man. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding on his tractor, and anything to do with being outdoors. He was the president of Troup Athletic Booster Club and very involved in the Troup Young Farmers and Future Farmers of America. He served as one of the judges for the Smith County livestock show. He volunteered at Angel Care Hospice from 2008 to present. Bill loved coaching his kids baseball and youth football. His life revolved around children, his and all the children of the community. He was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone.
He is preceded in death by his father Howard R. Adams, Sr., and step- mother, Mary Martin Adams.
Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Michelle Adams of Troup; sons, Mitch Adams and Matt Adams both of Troup; his “inherited” children Hanna Phillips and Chris Phillips of Troup; mother, Judy Ann Adams of Tyler; a sister, Carolyn Gouldthorpe and husband Randy of Tyler; 2 brothers, Roland Adams of Tyler and Robert Adams and wife Sharon of Troup; mother-in-law, Joyce Nayfa of Troup, father-in-law, Sam Nayfa of Nacogdoches; sisters-in-law Donna Nayfa-Bowden and husband Kevin of Center, Dannette Johnston and husband Sidney of North Richland Hills, and Roxanne Nayfa of Troup, and 16 nieces and nephews, Trey, Micah, Tiffany, Jennifer, Chelsea, Shelby, Zeke, Gabe, Brett, Kamren, Britani, Brandi, Chloe, Claire, Hanna and Chris; 1 great niece and 1 great , nephew, Kinzley and Carlin.
Pallbearers will be Mike Duplechin, Anthony Byrd, Richard Osteen, Kevin Bowden, Bruce Cunningham and Shawn Todd.
Honorary Pallbearer Michael Howard and Marcus Davis.
The family will receive friends at First Baptist Church in Troup from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Tuesday, February 24, 2015.
