Obituary of Melba Sue Richmond

Funeral services for Melba Martin Richmond, 73, Troup, are scheduled for 2:00 pm, Friday, February 20, 2015 at Cottle Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Tommy Harden officiating. Burial will be in the Salem Cemetery, Wright City under the direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup. Mrs. Richmond passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2015 in Tyler. She was born May 7, 1941 in Jacksonville, Texas, to the late R.D. Martin and Johnnie Mae Lanham Martin. She was a graduate of Arp High School and retired from Westwood Convalescence Home in Troup after 23 years as a med aid and she was a member of Bar None Cowboy Church. Melba loved her family and took great pleasure in cooking and sewing, spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 50 years, Lester E. Richmond and sister Gayle Martin Richmond. Survivors include her sons, Larry Richmond of Arp, David Richmond and wife Donna of Troup, Jimmy Richmond and wife Candy of DeBerry; a daughter, Donna Judalet of Henderson; a sister, Peggy Clark of Cleveland, Tx; 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Brandon Richmond, Jeremy Judalet, Jonathan Richmond, Christopher Moser, Riley Richmond and Kyle Judalet. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Thursday, February 19, 2015.
