Obituary of Willene Moore
Funeral services for Willene Moore 81, Overton are scheduled for 2:00 pm, Wednesday, January 28, in the Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home chapel, Overton. Burial will be in the Overton City Cemetery.
Mrs. Moore died Saturday, January 24 in a Tyler hospital. She was born April 26, 1933 in Snow Hill Arkansas and graduated from Leverett’s Chapel High School in 1951. She married Wallace Richard Moore in Texarkana, February 13, 1952 and moved to Overton in 1976 from Leverett’s Chapel. She worked for Gulf State United Telephone Company as a pay phone collector and was a member of the Pioneer Club and the Mustang Moms Club. She has been a member of the Missionary Baptist Church for over forty years and she loved her church.
Mrs. Moore was a loving mother and grandmother and was the most thoughtful woman and she would do whatever she could for anyone.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Moore, Sr., a son, Wallace ‘Gator’ Moore, Jr., and a brother, Cecil Smires.
Survivors include a son Scotty Moore, Overton; a daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Gene Moffet, Overton; a brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Kay Smires; sister and a brother-in-law, Diane and Don Davis; a sister-in-law, Berta Smires; grandchildren, Jena Moffet, Jeffrey Moffet and wife Catherine, Gregory Moore, and Teresa Pate and husband Nate; great-grandchildren; Olivia Moffet, Brock Moffet, Sadie Moffet, Sophie Moffet, Jacob Pate, and Natalie Pate; and numerous nieces and nephews; and all her babies from OHS Class of 2013.
Pallbearers will be K. J. Luster, Josh Barton, Colby Carpenter, Ty Robinson, Jesse Roach and Alan Umholtz.
Honorary pallbearers will be Nephews, Mark Smires, Mike Smires, Shane Hooten, Dustin Davis, Larry Smires and Jerry Smires. Also, family friends, Tommy Hardin and Mike Walls.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7:30 pm until 9:30 pm, Tuesday, January 27.
