Obituary of C. L. Mason

Services for C. L. Mason, 73, Troup, will be at 11:00 am, Tuesday, November 11, in the Gospel Barn Church with Reverend Steven Oakes officiating. Burial will be in Union Grove Cemetery under direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup. Mr. Mason went home to be with the Lord Sunday, November 9, 2014 at his residence. He was born March 3, 1941 in Simonole, Oklahoma to the late Claude Lee and Yvonne Roland Mason. He was a life long resident of Troup and married Billie Jean Guthrie August 22, 1958 in Wright City. Early in his life he worked in the oil field and later he owned and operated Mason’s Dairy for twenty five years. He has enjoyed serving the Troup Community as the manager at Troup Automotive for the last eighteen years. He is a member of the Gospel Barn Church of Troup. Besides his parents, Mr. Mason was also preceded in death by three brothers, Eugene Mason, Frank Mason and Everett Mason, and a sister, Helen Hemby Herrin. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Billie Mason, Troup; three sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Angela Mason, Arp, David and Jodie Mason, Troup, and Jason and Lisa Mason, Troup; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jerry and Brenda Mason, Marble Hill, Missouri, and Donald and Mary Mason, Turnertown; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty and the late Dennis Parker, Turnertown, Bonnie and Jessie Davis, Good Springs, and Joyce and Billie Carlile, Turnertown; grandchildren, Tabatha Hargrove, Davey Mason, Miranda Mason, Alyson Pruitt, Madison Lemon, Chase Mason, Jim Mason, Cassie Mason, Bethany Mason, Braydon Mason, and Savanna Mason; eleven great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews; and his special friend and pet, “Bouie”. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Mason, Jason Mason, David Mason, Chase Mason, Davey Mason, Jim Mason, Braydon Mason, and Calvin Mason The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Monday, November 10, at the funeral home.
