Obituary of Freddie Womack
Funeral services for Freddie Womack, age 84, of Troup, Texas are scheduled for Friday, October 31 at 2pm at Cottle Funeral Home in Troup Texas. Burial will be at Union Grove Cemetery. Freddie passed away on October 28th at his home in the Salem Community near Wright City.
Freddie was born at home in the Salem Community to Fred and Ida Davis Womack on July 23, 1930. He was a Korean War Veteran having served his country with dignity and honor. He was honorably discharged from the United States Army on October 29, 1956. Freddie retired from Gene Powell Investments and Anthony Forest Products.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Bert, Leon, Cecil and Earl and his sister Bertha.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Addington Womack, with whom he shared almost 61 years of marriage. He is also survived by sons Buster (Ann) Womack, Terry (Susan) Womack, Duane (Terry) Womack and his favorite daughter Roni (Jim) McCasland. Also, surviving are the grandchildren he loved so much: Joey (Mindy) Womack, Jamie (Danny Williams) Womack, Beamer Womack, Ashley (Matt) Hodges, Shane (Tiffany) McCasland, Dusty (Catherine) McCasland, Holli (Trey)Tate, Anthony Womack, Jared (Hali) Womack, Trey Womack and Misty Kelley and the 19 great grandchildren.
Freddie loved the special holidays when all of the kids gathered for good fun, food and togetherness. He loved to garden and shared his bounty with all his family and friends. Freddie was a Christian and was a member of the First Baptist Church Wright City.
In lieu of flowers, you may make donations in Freddie's memory to Hope for the World, P.O. Box 629 Stockbridge, Georgia 30281. Hope for the World is a home for children who have no other living options.
Pallbearers will be grandsons: Shane McCasland, Dusty McCasland, Joey Womack, Jared Womack, Trey Womack, Anthony Womack and great grandson Austin McCasland.
Visitation will be held on Thursday October 30, 2014 from 6pm to 8pm at the funeral home.
