Overton-New London Chamber of Commerce posted a condolence

The Overton-New London Chamber of Commerce was honored to know Mike Covey who graciously volunteered each year to be our 'Santa' in the annual Christmas Parade. His genuine heart for this community blessed so many, young and old. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all who knew Mike and miss him as much as the Chamber definitely will.

My deepest condolences to all the family of Mr. Covey. I will dearly miss my friend and co-worker, Mr. Covey. To some, we knew him as Mr. Corvette. I am already missing the mornings that we shared together over a cup of coffee, before our classes started. His passing left a void that is definitely felt. God speed, my friend.

My deepest sympathy to the Covey family. I enjoyed teaching with him at Billy Moore for several years. He helped many offenders there to gain a new vocation to help them become successful in life. I know that if they could, they would extend their condolences. He was a special man and will be truly missed.

Mr. Covey (as we called him at B.M. Moore was always so sweet and kind to everyone at the prison, to include the ducks. He always had a story to tell every time we were in the office. He will be missed. Many prayers for the family.

My deepest condolences to Mr. Covey's family. I worked with him at Billy Moore. He was always such an ethical and honest guy. We had many laughs and he always enjoyed joking and poking at all of us. I had a lot of respect for Mr. Covey because he was not afraid to tell you where he stood and he always stood up for the right thing. He brought a lot of joy to wherever he went. He was the one who always fed the ducks...He respected life and cared about the little things....I shall miss him and his contributions to Billy Moore and the students there....My prayers for his family...He was a wonderful man.

All,
my thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. I'm always afraid to say the wrong thing during moments like this because who can really understand the what a person is going through when you lose a dad/husband. Just know you're in my prayers, have faith this loss will become less painful one day, and take comfort he's now at peace.
Much love- Sandy
