Obituary of Paul M. Jordan

Services for Paul M. Jordan, 81, Arp, will be at 11:00 am, Tuesday, August 19, in the Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home chapel, Overton, with Reverend Doctor Ron Klingsick officiating. Burial will be in Mason Cemetery, Arp. Mr. Jordan died Sunday, August 17, 2014, in Tyler. He was born October 20, 1932 in Lufkin to the late James Roy and Lillie Mae Smith Jordan. He is veteran of the US Army and retired from TDI, Tyler, as a service supervisor. He was a hard working man and a man of his word. He enjoyed RV traveling, fishing, playing 42 and talking. He was a vegetable gardener, a Nascar fan, and a surviving member of the 701st AAA Battalion of US Army, and he enjoyed attending the Army reunions and pitching washers. Besides his parents, Paul was also preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Carter, a brother, Ralph Jordan, and a son, Kavan Jordan. Survivors include his wife of almost 61 years, Laurell Jordan, Arp; a daughter and son-in-law, Sabrina and Donny Whitehead, Henderson; grandchildren and their spouses, Josh and Meagan Parish, Longview, Jessie and Eddie Deaso, Haslett, and Kristen and Brandon McGee, Arp; great grandchildren, Kaden Parish, Kasyn McGee, and Kinslee McGee; several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and good friends. Pallbearers will be Josh Parish, Brandon McGee, David Jordan, Leslie Jordan, Shelby Jordan, and Eddie Deaso. Honorary pallbearers will be the surviving members of the 701st AAA Battalion of the US Army. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Monday, August 18, from 5:30 pm to 7:30 p.m.
