Obituary of Wanda Jean Cox

Services for Wanda Jean Music Cox, 85, Tyler, will be 2:00 pm, Wednesday, June 18, 2014 in the Cottle Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Jerry Hawbaker officiating. Burial will be in Mixon Cemetery, near Troup. Mrs. Cox died Sunday, June 15, 2014 in Whitehouse. She was born July 24, 1928 in Reklaw to the late Walter Graves and Beulah Mae Stegall Jones. She moved to Tyler from Mixon 29 years ago and was a homemaker. She was a member and Past President of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Tyler Elks Lodge #215. She throughly enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing dominoes at the Elks Lodge. Her best gift of all she left for us was her love, listening and great advice. Her love was unconditional. Besides her parents, Mrs. Cox was also preceded in death by two husbands, Marlin Doyle Musick and Bill Cox; two sons, Jessie Musick and Mike Musick; a daughter, Patricia Gail Kinney; a brother-in-law, O.J. Willis; and a granddaughter, Shari Rich. Survivors include three sons and two daughters-in-law, Ronald and Jill Starks, Tyler, Roger Starks, Tyler and Jimmy and Val Musick, Friendswood; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Sam Clark, and Marla and Charlie Rhodes, all of Troup; a brother, Walter Ray Jones, Tyler; a sister, Grace Willis, Marshall; twelve grandchildren, Rhonda Starks, Ramsey Starks, Lindsey Wall, Mandy Smith, Melodie Worden, Suzette Ramos, Bryan Clark, Adam Rhodes, Benjamen Rhodes, Elizabeth Rhodes, Michael Paul Musick, and Misty Spencer; twenty four great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Ramsey Starks, Charlie Rhodes, Adam Rhodes, Benjamen Rhodes, Jason Hopper, and Harold Rich III. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Tyler Elks Lodge #215 and Clark Massey. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Tuesday, June 17, at the funeral home. A special thank you to all the wonderful staff of East Texas Hospice for taking such special care of our mother.
