Bengt Spizzirri was 57 years young and was born November 3, 1956 in Blue Island, IL, to the late Angelo Anthony Spizzirri and Sandra Jean Frederickson. He was proceeded in death by his mother, father and his brother David Baxter. Survivors include his children Angelo Spizzirri of Mineola, Bengt Spizzirri and wife Carrie of DeBerry, Christina LaDue and husband Jordan of Henderson, Samantha Spizzirri of Kilgore, and Stephanie Lloyd of Kilgore; his siblings Richard Baxter and wife Gabbi of Troup, Margaret Gilliland of Troup, Jackie Hamilton of Price, and Allen Baxter of Galveston; 10 grandchildren: Evan, Jackson, Destiny, Justiss, Kylie, Raquelle, Jazmin, Colton, Jarrod and Bentley. By no means was our father ever a quitter, even in the time of his illness he fought to stay on this earth with us long past the doctors expectations. He was a hard worker through and through. He loved to spoil his grandchildren and was an amazing PawPaw. Bengt Angelo Spizzirris’ Life ended in remarkable testament to the Life he Lived. The oldest of 6 children Ben was born into a heavy position, at 9 years of age Mr. Spizzirri began to forge his path as the future sole provider for 3 children for a duration of 15 consecutive years. His first step was shining shoes to help provide his Mother with additional income to help the family not drown. Bens’ Life scripture is this…”And you will earn your living by the sweat of Your brow.” Dad was overly devoted to his obligations in His life with fierce loyalty to those he provided for and those that offered opportunity to obtain provisions for his obligations. Bens marriage ended when his three children were 5-3-& 2, he received a call that he needed to come get his kids and from that day forward, just as when he was 9, his life became selfless totally to ensure that his children were taken care of to the Very Best of his abilities. Ben never went out on dates or wasted money because he had no room for error or self pleasures because of his responsibilities. The man never complained about his lot in life. As it started when he was a boy, continued into Father Hood, then transitioned to his Death. Everyday he had a struggle by way of “poverty” from his birth till his kids were grown and gone where he was made free to better himself. After 16 years of living paycheck to paycheck Benito acquired a job with A-lert Construction were he finally received what he was worth. He was wise in his conduct and work ethic and became a foreman in Lafayette, Indiana which provided him with breathing room for self pleasures. Bengt Angelo Spizzirris’ heart was displayed in supernatural fashion his last 17 days on earth, as was his life story Ben Spizzirri overcame unrealistic odds to survive. On May 20, 2014, Ben was admitted to Carol Mont Regional Hospital with a Brain bleed and a staph infection which was hardly enough to stop him. As time drew to an end Mr. Spizzirri suffered septic shock, 5 strokes, double pneumonia, and liver failure, which surprisingly did not keep him from working himself back to opening his eyes to see his family and regaining some control of his body, it wasn’t until his kidneys failed that he had to be forced off of life support where he still did not quit. He breathed independently for near 2 hrs before his breathing stopped his heart was the last to go. The end was a remarkable testament to the determination and struggle of his life. He never missed work, and was always there when someone needed him. The world has lost an amazing person, taken way to soon. The void he has left in many peoples life will never be filled for this place was held by a hardworking, devoted, loving, good hearted individual who can never be replaced. Pall Bearers for Ben will be Bengt Spizzirri, Angelo Spizzirri, Justiss Dudley, Jordan Ladue, Eric Shively, and Bill Thompson. The family will receive friends from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm, prior to the service.
