Obituary of Blanche Louise Olesen
Services for Blanche Louise Olesen, 89, Overton, will be at 2:00 pm, Saturday, May 10, in the Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Johnny Wright officiating. Burial will be in the Overton City Cemetery.
Mrs. Olesen died Wednesday, May 7, 2014 in Tyler. She was born May 18, 1924 in Ranger to the late Otto M. and Ethel Underwood Carroll. She was a homemaker and a volunteer at Overton Health Care. She loved to play bingo, dominoes, and she loved country music and dancing. She was a avid fisherman and enjoyed the Blue Grass Festival and she was always the bell of the ball. She was a member of Grace Harold Baptist Church, New London.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three husbands, Leslie Pool, Sr., Jim Darnell, and Nels Olesen; two brothers, Roy Carroll and Jim Carroll; three sisters, Bernice McShane, Pauline Moore and Mildred White; and a son-in-law, James Chew.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Leslie Pool, Jr. and Barbara Pool, Huntsville; three daughters and a son-in-law, Linda Lott, Overton, and her special friend, Don Greathouse, Kilgore, Brenda Chew, Monahans, and Glenda and Bill Burgess, Overton; nine step-children; sister-in-law, Wilma Carroll, Denton; seven grandsons and four granddaughters; numerous step-grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Breedlove, Greg Lott, J.D. Joiner, Billy Bob Joiner, Casey Joiner, and Bryan Joiner. Honorary pallbearers will be Derek Breedlove, Charles David Breedlove and Leslie Chew.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Friday, May 9, 2014 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 p.m.
